Teddy Bear Picnic

On Sunday 9th June, 38 Beavers came to Windmill school in Raunds for a District Teddy Bears Picnic. 4 group were presented each doing a base. The afternoon started with a welcoming ceremony after which the Beavers went off to do various bases, there was soft archery, bottle rockets, giant jigsaws, parachute, Jenga plus they were allowed on the mini assault course & goalposts. After an hour on the bases, it was time for the picnic, everyone sat out in the warm weather eating their lunches. Once the picnic was finished, we had a Teddy Parade, all the Beavers paraded their Teddys in front of our District Commissioner who had the unenviable task of choosing the winning Teddy, which was won by a Beaver from 8th Rushden with a best dressed Giraffe. After the parade we had a games session with all the Beavers doing relay races, then it was back to the bases for the last hour. At 3 pm it was time to leave. All the Beavers had a really good time. Many thanks to the groups that came and the leaders who ran the bases.
